I’m Greg Urbano, a photographer now based in Colorado, where the light, altitude, and wide‑open spaces have reshaped the way I see. After more than fifteen years of carrying a camera through coastlines, cities, and quiet in‑between places, I’ve settled into a landscape defined by dramatic weather, shifting skies, and the kind of clarity that only exists at elevation. Colorado hasn’t changed what I look for — but it has changed how I look.
My work centers on landscapes, seascapes, and urban environments, but living in Colorado has expanded that vocabulary. The Front Range, the high plains, the sudden storms, the long shadows — they’ve become part of the rhythm of my practice. I’m drawn to the edges where stillness and motion overlap: a trail at sunrise, a street corner caught between shadow and neon, a horizon shifting color without warning. These are the moments that feel both ordinary and extraordinary, the ones that reveal themselves only when you’re willing to slow down and pay attention.
This website is home to my Top 100 Journey, a curated retrospective of one hundred photographs that trace the evolution of my creative voice. It isn’t a “best of” collection. It’s a record of the images that taught me something — about timing, patience, and the way a place can hold memory. Some of those lessons came from years on the coast; others are unfolding now in the mountains and open spaces of Colorado.
Beyond the images themselves, I write daily blog posts and produce a companion podcast that explore the stories, techniques, and ideas behind the work. These pieces extend the project into a broader conversation about photography, presence, and the value of noticing the quiet transitions that shape our surroundings.
If my photographs encourage viewers to pause, look closer, or feel a moment of recognition, then they’ve done what I hoped they would.
