A trip to the Dollar Tree can be a photographer’s adventure, especially for someone working on a budget. I found this bag of oversized Army Men and instantly envisioned the resulting image.
With a little chrome‑silver spray paint and a basic tabletop studio—and well before I understood how to light with flash—this became one of those early learning experiences using a cheap strobe.
I used a bit of post‑processing to create the effect of more figures than were actually present.
